THE CANYON YEAR (2025)
“The ghost canyon in the distance became more and more pronounced over time until it could no longer be ignored. The flat, open prairie was familiar, it was the canyon she didn’t yet know.”

SERIES STATEMENT
The Canyon Year is a series of landscape paintings documenting a canyon over the course of a year. Even though the subject matter is the same in each image, viewing it at different perspectives and times of day and year shows how an environment can drastically change from day to day. Storytelling plays a big part of the work. Each painting has its own story, further demonstrating that every day is a truly unique experience.
